Natural Dye Workshop - Sustainable Scraps: Saturday 4/22/23

$50.00

Finally, an opportunity to play with your food! In honor of Earth Day, we’re excited to host a workshop reusing kitchen scraps to create pieces of wearable art.

Join us for a fun afternoon where you’ll customize your own pair of cotton socks using all natural dyes from food waste items commonly found in kitchens. No dyeing knowledge is required as this workshop is beginner friendly!

Fiber artist and natural dye expert Cayetano Talavera will guide participants through utilizing natural dyes and tie-dyeing techniques as they dye and customize a pair of pre-treated cotton socks in this two-hour class. Explore colors made from avocados (pinks), persimmons (yellows), and onion skins (green tones).

Each ticket includes a pair of cotton socks and as an Earth Day bonus, a reusable produce bag.

Additional pre-treated bandanas and socks will be available for purchase at the event for bonus dyeing.
