Jipijapa Fan
Jipijapa Fan
Handcrafted in southern Mexico’s Campeche region, these Jipijapa fans are an example of functional art and beautiful craftsmanship.
Named after the specific palm tree whose leaves are used to construct the fans, Jipijapa pieces are made by artisans using techniques that date back to ancient Maya craftspeople where the palm fibers are actually woven in underground caves with humid conditions to allow the fibers flexibility to be bent and woven into shape.
Use to fan yourself and cool down or hang on the wall as decor.
