We've been on break for the season and I've been reacquainting myself with life as a (candle) civilian. Meaning for the first time in a long time, I have weekends free since our brick & mortar shop is closed until fall and I've been filling my new free time with slow days, night swims, road trips, and falling in love again with LA.
I won't bore you with details of my antics, I try to keep this place mostly about the work ("shut up and make the candles/play the hits..." if you will). Sometimes I wonder if I should join everyone else on Substack or YouTube spilling their guts out into the void and monetizing along the way? I'm both slightly shy yet love hamming it up on occasion (Sagittarius sun, Taurus moon, Capricorn rising here)... so maybe? Are the secret life and interests of a single brown candlemaker living in LA of interest in 2025 as the world seemingly collapses around us? I will tell you I'm spending lots of time outdoors and it's been very soothing. Soaking in the sunshine, watching the trees, watching my dog watch the sky, dreaming up new scent ideas and goals for the future- in short trying to absorb some of the slow sweetness and softness of summer into myself and my life. Go outside y’all, it is nice.
